Description
🔹 Background & Significance
The Pahlavi Gold Coins were first introduced in 1926 under Reza Shah and continued through Mohammad Reza Shah’s reign until the 1979 Revolution.
The 10 Pahlavi was the largest denomination in the series, containing nearly 74 grams of pure gold, making it one of the heaviest bullion coins of the Middle East.
This specific design with double portraits of Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Shah was struck in the later Pahlavi years, celebrating the continuity of the dynasty. The reverse features the Pahlavi crown, symbol of the monarchy.
Today, the 10 Pahlavi coin is highly valued for both its significant gold content and its historical rarity, sought after by collectors worldwide.
